Galkot: President Ramchandra Paudel has called upon the private sector to play a pivotal role in infrastructure development by investing in the sector. Emphasizing the importance of robust infrastructure for the growth of Nepal's tourism industry, President Paudel believes that such investments will contribute to establishing tourism as a reliable source of income and prosperity.

During the inaugural ceremony of the Seventh Baglung Festival organized by the Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President highlighted the need for accelerating the construction of the Mid-Hill Highway. He stressed that Baglung, renowned for its suspension bridges and artistic cane known as 'Buttenali,' should concentrate on fostering economic activities.

Recalling his four months of imprisonment in the district during the 1990 people's movement, President Paudel expressed a sense of being at home. He commended the organizers for hosting the event with the aim of enhancing socio-economic, cultural, and touristic aspects in Baglung and its surrounding areas. President Paudel praised Baglung as not only a vibrant hub for political awareness but also a naturally adorned region.

While acknowledging the richness of the district, President Paudel expressed concern over the relatively low number of tourists. He stressed the necessity of additional publicity, suggesting the showcasing of agro-products and medicinal herbs to attract more visitors.

Chitra Bahadur KC, Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha, also addressed the event and voiced dissatisfaction with the sluggish progress of the Kaligandaki corridor and Mid-Hill Highway construction. He demanded government action against those responsible for delaying these crucial projects.
